Dear Parents, Coaches, and Participants,
Exciting news! For some time now, the board members of Westside Soccer Club and Eisenhower Soccer Club have been discussing a possible merger into one organization. No decisions have been made as of yet; however, it has been determined that both clubs share similar ideals, commitments, and structures. Through years of interaction both clubs have developed trust, and ultimately, each shares the same goal: to provide the best soccer opportunities for every player at every level of interest and ability.
The benefits of such a merger are numerous. They include improved opportunities for players, pooling of volunteers, creation of highly competitive teams, and providing better resources without duplication, just to name a few. Although we understand that the enormous task of merger will require some work to iron out the kinks, the enormity of the opportunity to create something special for Vancouver soccer players cannot be ignored.
We are all very excited about the potentials of such a merger. It makes sense economically, it makes sense geographically, and most importantly it makes sense for our kids. Although we feel like all members of the soccer community will benefit from this merger, we want your input. This is an exciting opportunity and we want you to be a part of it. We would like to invite you to our next board meeting, which will be held on Thursday April 17th at 7:00pm at Lincoln Elementary School. Please come to ask questions and help us make this important decision.
Sincerely,
The Westside Board of Directors |
